Buckingham Group is proud to announce a sixth year of achieving The Planet Mark

planet mark certificationAs part of its commitment to a sustainable future, Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd has achieved The Planet Mark for the sixth year. Buckingham Group Contracting and our employees are now working towards improving the company’s environmental, social and related economic performance even further than last year.

Using the internationally recognised Planet First Protocol methodology, the Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd carbon footprint for its sites during 2013 was calculated at 565t/CO2e, following a reduction, per employee of an impressive 34%.

This reduction is due in part to a significant investment to replace older, less fuel efficient, vehicles with new vehicles including, for example, the procurement of 30 Corsavan ecoFLEX modles that achieve CO2 emissions of just 89g/km.

Buckingham Group Contracting is committed to reducing emissions by a further 5% through 2014. As part of certification, Buckingham Group Contracting are also proudly supporting the Eden Project Education programme, helping educate children on develop educational materials and workshops for school children and young people, as well as industry specific development training programmes, both off-site and at the Eden Project in Cornwall.
