Company Background

Our company history dates back to the formation of Buckingham Plant Hire in 1955, with Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd (Buckingham Group) being formally incorporated in November 1987. Over the past 30 years the company has grown organically to become a highly established Main/Principal Contractor, undertaking major, multi-disciplinary, construction projects.

As an owner-managed business, we maintain a business ethos based on traditional "family values". We care about our people, the communities in which we operate, and take pride in the projects that we deliver. We retain and develop high-calibre directly employed staff across all disciplines, with a strong in-house production capability in demolition, civil engineering, earthworks and land remediation/restoration.

With a turnover exceeding £400million, and working on a sound self-financing basis, we are a successful business operating on a stable financial footing. Our formally published Corporate Objectives, Strategies and Corporate Social Responsibility Policy, affirms that in all key aspects we will "Be the best performing, and most respected, Medium Sized UK Contractor", as determined by our Clients, suppliers and employees.

The company is structured and resourced to offer a responsive management style that encourages the building of strong commercial and collaborative relationships with Clients, professional associates, sub-contractors and suppliers to the ultimate benefit of the company and its customers and stakeholders.

We have substantial experience and understanding in the delivery of complex projects that embrace safe, sustainable and considerate construction.  Our approach is based upon:

Having already undertaken projects exceeding £90million in overall value, we still cater for smaller scale contracts, and are equipped and resourced to safely deliver large multi-disciplinary projects.

We pride ourselves on the 'Can-Do' attitude of our Staff, Management and Directors. Our people focus on delivering excellent levels of service on every project we undertake. Our approach, regardless of forms of contract, is to work in collaboration with our Clients to understand their needs and the constraints under which their project will be constructed. From this level of understanding, we then deliver projects safely, on programme and to budget.

In delivering our corporate social responsibilities, we believe in treating our customers fairly based upon an open and trusting relationship between Client and Contractor. Our aim is to work for Clients of a like mind. Evidence of the success of our approach is the significant levels of repeat business that we enjoy.

With the encouragement of the Directors, our people bring a very positive attitude to resolving technical and programme challenges that present themselves at any stage in the delivery process. This is a key factor in securing and then successfully managing projects, and consequentially building long-term relationships with our Clients, based upon providing an excellent "Total Construction" service.
